A case study of electronic control failure in a glass factory
The customer had repeated electrical control and instrument failures in a new glass factory. The factory has been imported from 60Hz countries to 50Hz countries. In this case, the capacity of the new plant was reduced by 50% or more due to frequent shutdowns and shutdowns. The cost of repairing electronics is only a fraction of the total cost per breakdown. "You're not just closing down the glass factory". The customer tried to identify the source of the problem with a voltmeter and a simple power monitor. They can't catch damaging voltage changes. We installed a Dranetz power quality monitor at the 400-volt bus level. The results are shown in Figure 2. Note that the peak voltage plot clearly shows the multiple high voltage transients recorded by the PG4400's unique voltage peak recording capability. Figure 3 shows the details of the voltage transient. To find the source of the transients, we installed additional Dranetz Power Quality Analyzer PX-5 and PG4400 displays at a source voltage of 10Kv. Figure 4 shows the details of a 10KV voltage transient with the PG4400 peak recording capability.
